Pudsey Cadets On Top Form
It was the third round of the National Cadet League in Bradford this week and with a team in each of the two divisions it was an opportunity for Pudsey future young players to continue their good progression. The A team of Reuben Hainsworth, Edward Hollingsworth and Jack Taylor made a great start beating Hull A 6-3 with two wins each. Next match saw a convincing win over Hull Beaver’s 8-1. In their last match Pudsey A had a hard fought 5-4 win over Keighley Oakbank with Reuben in excellent form winning all three of his matches. These results should see Pudsey move up into second place and with one more round to go should see an interesting finish to the cadet league.
The B team consisting of Reece Bell, Ellen Auty and Ben Rhodes were looking to continue their domination in this division having previously won five from five. They made the perfect start with a 9-0 victory over Rotherham. Facing Bradford Fastbats Reece Bell’s unbeaten individual run came to an end in the opening game but Ellen showed the boys how to do it as she won all three as Pudsey won 5-4. Fastbats D were beaten 9- 0 in the last match leaving the B team in pole position to take the title in the next round.
In the Leeds League the new tables were released this weekend and it currently shows two Pudsey teams at the top of their divisions. Pudsey A currently lead division one by five points having won all eleven of their games. In Division four the G team lead by two points over Acre Farm Rovers.
