However the resilient John Chew got the better of Nicola over four ends to give Victoria a 5-3 win.
Horsforth School U16 girls were competing in Grantham on Sunday in the Northern regional final. Horsforth led by Pudsey Girls Nicole Finn and Ellen Auty were 7-1 winners over Wymondham College from Norfolk and now progress to the National Finals in Hinckley on 19th March. Both girls’ county experience showed as they won their four matches without dropping an end. In the Under 13 girls Horsforth led by Pudsey’s Samantha Parker failed to progress as they drew one match and lost one.
In the Leeds League this week in division two Pudsey E were in fine form as they crushed Leeds Judean D 9-1. Here three wins each for Richard Ball and David Noutch and two for Sandra Rider. In division three Pudsey F gained a rare victory as they beat Ossett 6-4 thanks to a fine performance from Richard Laws in winning all his games and also combining with John Dasoalo to win the doubles.
