Pudsey Girls Excel at Yorkshire Trials
Pudsey Table Tennis clubs girls were in excellent form at the Yorkshire Trials held at Richmond Hill Table Tennis centre. Ten year old Shristi Ghosh completed a remarkable double in winning both the U11 and U13 events only losing one game.
In the junior girls' event Ellen Auty won all seven of her matches and only dropped one end to Imogen Barber, her team mate from last year's Yorkshire Junior second team. This result now sees Ellen selected for her debut for Yorkshire Junior first team in November.
Ten year old Joe Moss also put up some creditable performances finishing 7th in both the U11 and U13 Boy’s events. Brother and sister Michael and Sam Parker and Liam Linley found the going tough but also showed they have potential to do well in the future.
It was also Women’s British League in Bristol and Pudsey’s Nicola Smith was part of the Leeds Ladies team which lie currently in second position in Division Two. Nicola currently ranked 65 had a couple of excellent wins over higher ranked opponents as Leeds only lost one match out of five played.
Pudsey Junior girl Nicole Finn also competing at the Women’s British League for Scarborough produced some outstanding results as she won eight out of her ten matches. Nicole currently ranked 99 had produced the shock result on the Sunday as she beat England No 1 Veteran and Senior ranked 29 Sue Collier.
