Press Correspondent: Peter Thompson Pudsey Cadets Struggle Pudsey’s cadets were in action at the weekend in Halifax with the opening series of matches in the Yorkshire region mixed cadet league for under fifteens. In division two of the cadet league Pudsey played twins Michael Parker and Samantha Parker and a debut for ten year old Shristi Ghosh. In their first match against Rotherham Scorpions Pudsey lost 7-2 with one win apiece for Michael and Samantha. Though Samantha will be wondering how she did not win all three losing two of her games deuce in the fifth. In Pudsey’s second match against St Mary’s from Doncaster they fared much better as they won 6-3 with all three players winning two. Star of the future Shristi showing faith in her selection as she won her two very comfortably against much older boys. In their last match Pudsey found Dewsbury too hot to handle as they lost 7-2 with a win each for Michael and Samantha. Dewsbury’s Freddie Brown won all three for his side. In the Bradford League this year Pudsey's Division 3 team have made an impressive start with two consecutive 9-1 wins. This has seen John Ainley and Doug Bartle win their opening six matches and Pudsey must be strong favourites to be in a promotion place come the end of the year.Posted 25 Oct 2011 22:10 BST
