Press Correspondent: Peter Thompson Samantha Leads the Way In her debut season playing Division six in the Leeds League 13 year old Samantha Parker is showing the adults the way home both against the opposition and her own team mates. Having made an impressive start in winning five out of six singles matches in her previous two matches she was on top form this week against British Telecomm. She won all three including a topsy turvy 12-10 fifth end win over veteran Geoffrey Smith. This helped Pudsey K to a comfortable 8-2 victory with three wins for Bryn Gaines and two for Andy Hodgson. In Division two Pace setters WHRA who had won their four opening matches faced Pudsey C who had opened up the season with three straight victories. Craig Render put WHRA in front with a fifth end victory over Lee Orange before Chris Newsome levelled the match. Junior Nicole Finn losing 2-0 and 8-6 down in the third to Colin Atkinson managed to snatch the third game 12-10 and then comfortably won the next two sets. With match score at 3-3 Pudsey went into the driving seat as first Chris got the better of Colin and Nicole beat Steve Reid in another tight fifth end match to establish a 5-3 lead. It was to be only a share of the spoils as Pudsey failed to capitalise on this lead. Pudsey B team this week also had to settle for a share of the spoils in their division one match with Dewsbury B. Here Phil Cawser won three but a shock for Chris Parker as he lost his unbeaten start to the season with an 11-8 fifth end loss to Steve Worsman.Posted 20 Nov 2011 21:08 BST
