Pudsey Girls Represent Yorkshire Juniors
Pudsey Junior Girls Nicole Finn and Ellen Auty on debut were in action at the weekend in Slough representing the Yorkshire Junior first team. Yorkshire facing Middlesex in the first match found the going tough and lost 7-3 but Nicole, England ranked 28, managed an excellent win over Sushmita Limbu, ranked 18. A 7-3 victory ensued against Cleveland which saw Nicole win two and Ellen win one.
Sunday saw Yorkshire against Essex and the girls were in the forefront of the action as Yorkshire gained a draw with both girls winning all the matches. It was an excellent day for Ellen, ranked 52, as she took the best two wins of her career beating Ella Patel and Iffy Okafor ranked 35 and 27 respectively.
In the Leeds league this week the Pudsey A team were back on song with the return of Shah Masoudi to the club after an absence of six years as they crushed Victoria 10-0. The C team continued their push for the division two title with a 7-3 win over Yeadon with an all-round team effort consisting of two wins each for Nicole, Richard Ball and Lee Orange.
Pudsey club chairman Paul Dykes finally hitting his top form in week seven took all three for Pudsey H to help his side secure a draw at home to Leeds Judean G in division three. Steve Smith winning two including the vital last match.
