Good Win for Pudsey B

Week fourteen in the Leeds League saw Pudsey B gain a good win over the 3rd placed team YMCA in Division one. With the match score at 2-2 Pudsey took the vital double match to establish a 3-2 lead. This proved to be pivotal as Pudsey went onto win 7-3 with three wins each for Phil Cawser and Chris Parker.

The derby match between Pudsey C and Pudsey F looked all over as the F team took a four sets to nil lead. Though the C team might have wondered what they had done wrong losing three of the games close in the fifth end. The doubles saw the C team on the board and it soon became 4-2 with Chris Newsome winning a fifth end game over Steve Winnard. It was the battle of the Pudsey youngsters next between Jake McCarthy and Nicole Finn with Jake coming home 12-10 in the fifth in this topspin and counter hitting classic match. With Pudsey C 5-2 down after such tight games it was surprising how quickly they got the draw winning the next three matches in three straight sets.

Also in division two Pudsey D were on wrong end of a 6-4 score line against WHRA with two wins for Lukasz Karanski and one each for Rudi Itoe and Mick Lowe.

Division 3 saw another close match as Pudsey G relegation battle continues gaining a draw over Leeds Judean H. Two wins apiece for Carol Judson, Steve Smith and one for Paul Dykes.
