Champions on Top Form
Last years defending Leeds League champions Pudsey A were on top form for their top of the table clash with Dewsbury. Pudsey raced into a 4-0 before Dewsbury gained a set winning the doubles. Pudsey responded to increase the lead to 8-1 before Dewsbury Lightowler gained their first singles win. It was a strong all round team performance with three wins each for Richard Smith and Simon Noutch and two wins for Simon Pugh. This leaves Pudsey six points clear and with six games to go odds on to retain their title.
It was Senior British League this weekend and it was a miserable weekend results wise. Pudsey were in runners up spot in division 3 north and in their opening game suffered a 5-3 defeat to third place Uxbridge with two wins for Joanna Roberts and one for Chris Parker. In their second match against Formby they could only manage a draw and in their last match suffered a 7-1 defeat to Glasgow David Smith managing the one. The Second team in Division four suffered an 8-0 and 6-2 defeats to Northfield and Matlock respectively on the Saturday. Sunday saw a walk over win against Uxbridge followed by a 7-1 defeat to Ormesby with James Atkins winning the one.
Pudsey top cadet girl Nicole Finn made her debut for the Yorkshire Cadet team at the Cadet Premier weekend in Draycott this weekend. It was excellent debut performance winning seven out of thirteen and also taking the England number four to fifth end.
