Pudsey Back With a Bang

After an absence of three years from the Bradford league Pudsey A team were back with a bang winning division two. The squad of Joanna Roberts, Doug Bartle, Ray Rider, Paul Noutch and Sandra Rider have dominated the league. This weeks 9-1 victory ensured the league title and with a current playing record of twenty one wins and one draw they should finish the season unbeaten. Joanna is well on course to win the individual averages only losing one game in forty eight. The B team playing in division 4 are also going well in a promotion position and sees Pudsey’s Steve Smith top of the individual averages.
 The crunch game in Leeds Division two this week saw the Pudsey C team fail to gain the necessary league victory over Judean to win the league. Despite two wins from Chris Newsome Judean took the match 6-4. The E team 8-2 victory over Horsforth now means they could win the league on sets depending on them winning their last two games.
In Division five Pudsey I team avoided relegation with a last gasp 6-4 victory over Armley thanks to three wins for Carol Judson, two for Kingsley Smith and one for David Wood. With Pudsey leading 5-4 and requiring victory to stay up Kingsley grabbed the vital win over Keith Hardcastle.
In Division 6 the J team continued their remarkable form with two victories this week to extend their winning sequence to nine wins and finish runners up. Star performer was 13 year old Nicole Finn showing the adults the way winning twenty six out of her last twenty seven singles.
