Pudsey Champions in Style

 Pudsey’s A team were confirmed as champions of division one with a 10-0 victory over MPMG. The squad of Joanna Roberts, Simon Noutch, Rich Smith and Simon Pugh have now won twenty games on the trot and with only two games to go are aiming for a perfect twenty two straight wins.
Pudsey youngsters were in action again at Halifax on Saturday in the last of the four Yorkshire tournament series one star tournaments. Ellen Auty took the Under 13 titles with a convincing win over Hannah Noutch. It left Ellen in the money in second place over all in the series. Nicole Finn reached the final for the fourth time in the under 15 girls but old adversary Emily Roys took a thrilling final 11-9 in the fifth on a net! Nicole finishing in second place in the series. In the Under 18 girls Nicole reached the Semi-final including gaining a revenge win over Emily 3-1. In the semi Nicole faced the number one seed Hannah Winfield and lost a hard fought game 12-10 in the fifth. In the under 13 boys Edward Hollingsworth continued his recent good run of form reaching the quarters before losing to the number one seed.
Pudsey Junior James Atkins represented Yorkshire Juniors at the weekend in the County Premier division and performed creditably to help the Yorkshire team to finish in fourth place.
In the Leeds League this week in Division five the I team making a fight of avoiding relegation got a good draw away against Lower Wortley. Carol Judson winning all three and combining with Kingsley Smith to grab the all important doubles.
