Pudsey Girls Title Hat-trick

Pudsey Table Tennis club youngsters were in action at in Bradford on Sunday in the Bradford Fastbat’s one star open. Pudsey girls Ellen Auty and Nicole Finn were strong favourites to win titles and they did not disappoint. Ellen nationally ranked 36 in England won the under 13 girl’s round robin event with out dropping an end. Nicole Yorkshires number one cadet girl also took the under 15 title without dropping an end. Ellen finished runner up only losing to team mate Nicole.  In the under 18 girls Nicole beat the number one seed Alex Lee from Scarborough 3-1 in the first match after losing the opening game. Nicole continued in winning ways to add the under 18 title to her name.

Eleven year old Edward Hollingsworth came through his tough under 13 boy’s group stage undefeated. Edward progressed to reach the semi-final before losing a hard fought match to Marcus Reynolds from Halifax. Tim McDonald and Reece Bell gained some good wins in the under 13 and under 15 boy events respectively.

In the Leeds League this week their were three Pudsey derby clashes with the division two clash between the top of the table C team against the F team the most vital. The C team recovered from a poor start to win a tight match 6-4 and leave themselves a good chance of winning the division. In division 6 the J team saw off the K team by the same score and the L team 7-3. In division one the A team beat Victoria 8-2 with only John Chew offering any resistance as Pudsey made it nineteen straight wins.
