Pudsey Hat-Trick Trials

It was the Yorkshire Trials over this weekend in Scarborough and Pudsey youngsters were in the thick of the action. On Saturday defending champion Nicole Finn won the U15 cadet girl’s singles. Team mate Ellen Auty finished runner up only losing to Nicole and both girls will now represent Yorkshire cadets later in the season.

On Sunday Nicole and Ellen continued to show the strength of the Pudsey girls in the Under 18 Junior girls event. Nicole again remaining unbeaten to take her second title and Ellen finishing fourth. Ellen’s performance included beating Alex Lee the number two seed from Scarborough. This should see debut selections for Nicole and Ellen for  Yorkshire Junior first and second team’s respectively.

James Atkins was the third Pudsey singles winner in the under 18 junior boys. James showed power and consistency to win all ten of his matches. James should see his performance guarantee a place in the Yorkshire Junior first team. Daniel Adams surprisingly unseeded having won the event last year came thru to finish third.

Pudsey other youngsters  Ben Roberts,  Edward Hollingsworth, Reece Bell and Danny Beech also performing creditably in the respective events.
