Pudsey girls make finals

It was the second round of the new Yorkshire Junior Grand Prix series one star junior tournament at Richmond Hill in Leeds on Saturday. Pudsey girls Nicole Finn and Ellen Auty were the stars of the show from the seven Pudsey players entered.
In the under 15 girls event Nicole progressed through to the semi final winning all her group matches. Here she played her Pudsey team mate Ellen Auty who had come through her tough group in a runner up spot. Nicole took the honours and faced Emily Roys from Lincolnshire in the final. Emily had beaten Nicole in the previous final in Scarborough and again Emily proved to be the stronger player winning three games to one.

Ellen in the Under 13 girls battled through her group matches to face Hannah Noutch from Lincolnshire in the semi final and won in a five end match. In her first ever open final Ellen played Nicole Bird from Northampton. Ellen took a tight first end but could not stop Nicole from taking the next three games.

In the boys under eleven Ben Rhodes in his first ever tournament showed plenty of potential for the future winning all three of his group matches. In the next round he was unlucky to lose a fifth end thriller 13-11 against Lo from Hull.

In the Leeds league the A team maintained their unbeaten record with a 9-1 win over MPMG and go into the Christmas break sitting at the top of division one.
