Pudsey Sunday Morning Blues

Last years division six champions Pudsey I are finding life in division five difficult. Their Leeds League fixture was rearranged from a Monday Evening to a most unusual time of Sunday morning at 10 am this week.   Paul Scurrah looked as though he was in control in the first match establishing two games to one lead over Malcolm Shedlow but Shedlow recovered to win 3-2. Leeds Judean reeled off the next five matches before Kingsley Smith replied for Pudsey. Judean winning 8-2 to leave Pudsey with no wins from their opening three matches.

Bradford A team continued their unbeaten run but were made to fight all the way this week by Unbeaten Unity B. Pudsey were quickly 2-0 down  but a fifth end win for Joanna Roberts  pulled one back , Pudsey went 3-1 down and then responded with three straight wins to lead 4-3. Unity Came back as Dave Renton beat Sandra Rider. Pudsey were not to be stopped as Paul Noutch gave Pudsey the lead 5-4. Noutch combined with star performer Roberts to take the doubles and a hard fought 6-4 victory.

Two local Pudsey derbies this week in the Leeds League saw the honours in both go to the higher ranked team. In Division one the A team continued with its unbeaten start beating the B team 9-1 with Chris Parker gaining the solitary win for the B team. In Division two the C team comfortable beat the E team 7-3 after an impressive three wins from Lee Orange though junior Daniel Adams can be pleased with his two wins over the higher team.
