Table Tennis Results Round up

With four teams in division two in the Leeds League Pudsey were always going to have a major influence in the promotion stakes. This week saw the F team produce a shock win over second placed Dewsbury thanks to an all round team effort with Sandra Rider, John Thaxter and Richard Ball all winning two. The following night with Dave Clarke replacing Rider they faced Pudsey E and made a great start winning the opening two games. The E team drew level but the doubles went to the F team. Daniel Adams responded for the E team with a fine fifth end win over John Thaxter and with Danny Beech and Rudi Itoe getting the better of Dave Clarke Pudsey E led 5-3.  Adams ensured the victory with a scintillating display of backhand loops over Ball.  The D team also produced a fine win to keep up their promotion bid over Yorkshire Bank 7-3 thanks to 3 wins for Paul Noutch and two each for Sarah and Dave Noutch. Ian Duxbury three wins for Horsforth was crucial as the C team currently in third place could only manage a draw.

Chris Parker made the trip at the weekend to Nottingham to compete in the British University championships. On the Saturday he sailed through his group winning his matches 3-0. On Sunday he progressed to the last thirty two before losing to the number eight seed a world ranked Cypriot by three games to one.
