County Selection For Pudsey Players

The big clash in the Leeds League featuring a Pudsey team this week was between Pudsey H and Horsforth B with both teams unbeaten and with nine straight wins one team had to give. Horsforth featured the unbeaten Tony Mcvickers and he kept up this record taking his three sets without too much pressure. Mcvickers was also influential in helping his side take the doubles. Pudsey’s strong all round team of John Dasoalo, Richard Laws and Peter Greasley showed that they were up for the battle and went in front to lead 5-4 going into the last match. However they had to settle for a draw as they lost the last game in the fifth  late in the evening leaving the status quo of Horsforth on top of division 4 by three sets.

With the publication of the England ranking list showing Pudsey’s Daniel Adams and James Atkins at 37 and 42 respectively as the highest ranked Yorkshire cadet boys came selection for the Yorkshire county cadet team this week. Pudsey will further be represented by Coach Peter Thompson who will be in charge of coaching the team over the weekend of 23/24th February at Draycott in Derbyshire. For James his selection is the result of some recent impressive performances and will be his debut, while Daniel will be hoping to perform to the same high standards as last year when representing Yorkshire.
