Early Season Table Toppers

With a record number of twelve teams in the Leeds League it is the lower teams making the early season bid for titles. Pride of place goes to the experienced J team who are top of division 6 with a maximum of four wins from four starts. Leading the way for the team is veteran David Wood of Huddersfield who is currently fifth in the individual averages. The team also consists of Kingsley Smith plus Pudsey’s long serving Paul Scurrah and Lynne Thompson and former Junior Tom Howson.

Division 3 also sees Pudsey F leading the division from the Pudsey E team by one point with both teams unbeaten. Sandra Rider is leading the individual averages for the F team and with all the players veterans there experience should see them as one of the front runners for the league title. The E team consists of Pudsey’s trio of leading cadet (U15) players backed up by former England Cadet International Nicola Smith.

In Division 4 the H team are unbeaten and with a couple of games in hand on the leaders may well be fighting hard for the title as the season develops. Also in division four just outside the promotion place’s are the I team whose captain Tom Sampson is leading the individual averages for his team.

In division one last years champions Pudsey A currently lie in second place to Dewsbury A and having lost to them already this year it could be a struggle to retain the title. Pudsey C having being promoted last year is the team with real problems and are currently rooted to the foot of the division with no points.
