New Year Review

The New Year shows the strength in depth of Pudsey Table Tennis Club with many of the teams either top or in a serious promotion position at the halfway stage of the season.

Div 1 and 2: Having lost their opening match Pudsey A have reeled off eight wins on the trot and are now second in the league by two points to Dewsbury. The title could well be decided in early January when they face Dewsbury. Richard Smith and Simon Noutch first and second respectively are leading the individual averages.  The B team currently lie in mid table and the C team gaining their first points of the season in the last match before Christmas are fighting relegation. The D team in two are currently in the lower half of the table.

Div 3: Pudsey teams dominate the top the table with the F and E team first and second. With both teams unbeaten in the league the league title is likely to come from one of these teams. In the individual averages Dave Clarke from the F team currently lies second, Sandra Rider third and fourteen year olds Daniel Adams, James Atkins sixth and seventh.

Div 4: Pudsey H has a 100% win record but are in second place to Horsforth on sets who also have a similar record. The clash of the big two is first match in the New year and with both teams so strong the title could well go down to sets at the end of the season.

Div 6: Pudsey J currently unbeaten top the table by a point but with a game in hand over nearest rivals will be hoping to maintain the good form into he second half of the season. The K team a mix of youngsters gaining their first experience of adult league are in mid table. The L team who are all new seniors to the game are currently bottom but showing signs of improvement.
