Press Correspondent: Peter Thompson Pudsey Trio Reach National Finals Five of Pudsey Table Tennis club talented youngsters were in action at the County regional finals at Halifax on Saturday. Two Boys entered in the under 15 category, two girls in the under 13 and one boy in the Under 13. Most outstanding performance on the day was twelve year old Nicole Finn in the U13 girl’s event. Having only got in as a reserve based on the trials in early September, fast improving Nicole showed she is a girl going places. With an opening win over Halifax Georgia Rose, three games to one she faced top seed Rhianna Wood from Scarborough and lost by a similar score line. That was to be her only loss as she grew in confidence winning the next three girls to finish in second place. In the under 15 boy’s singles James Atkins continued his good run of form finishing overall in second place losing only one of his seven games to the eventual winner James Grayson of South Yorkshire. Neil Dattani had already qualified in the Under 11 boys and will join Nicole and James in the National Final in Derby on the 12/13th April 2008. In the League this week only the H team is left with a 100% win record after seven games as the J team in division six dropped their first point of the season with a draw at the Billetmen. In Division one in the all Pudsey clash between the C and B team the B team were given a tough match getting home by six games to four.
