Pudsey Yorkshire Cup Finalist

Pudsey faced Hull YPI in the semi-final of the Yorkshire clubs trophy at Hull at the weekend. Pudsey turned out with a strong squad consisting of Yorkshire County first team players Simon Noutch and Richard Smith along with county second player Chris Parker. This squad proved two strong for Hull and a hard fought victory 5-3 was achieved with Simon Noutch winning three and two for Smith.
The young cadets found the going tough at Wath on Dearne in the third round of the cadet league. The first team lost two games 5-4 and suffered a 7- 2 defeat to Rotherham. Rising star Vishal Dattani though had a good individual performance winning eight out of his nine games. The second team lost two and won one over Oakbank. In this match Nicole Finn won all three of her matches against the Oakbank boys along with Neil Dattani two wins to give Pudsey a 5-4 victory.
In the local league this week it was cup week and Pudsey teams fared badly. In division 1 the A team won 5-0 but this was at the expense of the C team. The B team lost 5-1 at Victoria. In the FM Carr cup for division three and four teams the unbeaten E team suffered a shock 5-1 defeat to Yeadon Flyers though this result could have been different as Pudsey lost three of the games deuce in the fifth. In the Norman Smith cup for division five and six teams the K team lost 5-3 despite a valiant effort from youngster Tom Jarman winning all three of his games.
